Red Bull Reveals Substantial 2026 Driver Line-Up: Hadjar Elevated, Youngster Lindblad Gets Formula 1 Seat.

Red Bull has confirmed a major reshuffle for the 2026 Grand Prix year, elevating French driver Isack Hadjar to its A-team and giving British teenager Arvid Lindblad his maiden F1 drive.

Lindblad, who comes from a mixed Swedish-Indian background, is set to become the partner of New Zealander Liam Lawson at the second team VCARB.

These changes means Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda exiting the grid post a half-decade in F1.

A Star in the Making

The youngster was identified as a potential future star by Red Bull since he was 12 years old.

Regarding the company's junior academy, a key advisor noted last year that Lindblad "seems extremely gifted", commending his "raw pace".

Red Bull has been working for some time to ready Lindblad for his likely F1 debut in 2026, including runs in F1 practice sessions at Silverstone and Mexico City.

Lindblad stated it was a "proud moment", commenting: "2026 will be a huge step, and I know there's much to understand, but I'm prepared to collaborate with the team and meet the challenge. I can't wait to get started."

Lindblad has taken two races in F2 this year and is P6 in the championship ahead of the final round in Abu Dhabi.

A Major Opportunity for Hadjar

The Frenchman's debut season started on a low note when he crashed on the formation lap of the first Australian Grand Prix. But, from that point, he has been one of the most impressive newcomers this season.

His performances featured an remarkable podium finish at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he sits 10th in the championship.

The team principal said: "Isack has displayed impressive growth and proved to be a quick learner. Most importantly, he has the raw speed that is the primary necessity in this sport. We believe he can succeed alongside Max."

Hadjar described it "a fantastic step" and said he felt "ready".

The Lawson Decision

For the seat at the junior team, Red Bull have opted for Lawson over Tsunoda.

Lawson began the season with the main team but was moved back after just two races. He has settled back in at the junior outfit with notable results, convincing Red Bull he deserves more time.

Tsunoda, in contrast, loses his place after a disappointing season. His best result is a sixth place, and he has scored a small fraction of the team's points total.

These announcements confirm that there is also no spot on the Red Bull academy for Irish driver Alex Dunne, who will continue in F2 for 2026.
