Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with book publisher.

The author

Best-selling children's author and comedian David Walliams is no longer with his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.

An official for the publisher stated: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing additional books by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the conclusion was made after an investigation into allegations of questionable actions towards women.

The publisher did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams stands as a most successful children's authors, having sold more than 60 million copies worldwide in dozens of tongues.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

A number of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.

His bibliography includes over four dozen titles in total, including a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins last autumn.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE in 2017 for his services to the charitable sector and arts community.

The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
